FORMING THE POSSESSIVE
We add “ ‘s ” to singular nouns to show possession.
Example:
We are having a party at John’s house.
Michael drove his friend’s car yesterday.
We add “ ‘ ” to plural nouns ending in –s:
This is my parents’ house.
Those are ladies’ shoes.
POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES
Her (feminine)
His (masculine)
Its (object/animal)
Example:
Julia loves her new toy.
Nathan is at his grandmother’s house.
The dog is too big for its bed.
The plant is in its pot.
